Automated Floorplan Analysis for Eurocode-Based Live Load Classification
Project Overview

This project develops a comprehensive system for automated analysis of architectural floorplans, combining computer vision and structural engineering expertise. The system processes scanned drawings through advanced OCR and semantic segmentation to identify individual rooms, corridors, and spaces. Using deep learning models trained on architectural standards, it automatically classifies room types (residential, office, storage, etc.) and assigns appropriate live loads according to Eurocode EN 1991-1-1 specifications. The solution streamlines the structural design process by eliminating manual load calculation steps, reducing human error, and ensuring consistent compliance with European building standards.
